Changing one person’s experience…
The CTBTA just held it’s “Night of Hope” Farm to Table dinner. It’s always such an amazing night. A big top tent in the middle of a field, by the side of a barn.
You have to walk through a grape vineyard to get there… little white lights… sundown… music playing… the smell of New England.
Straw bales with blankets thrown over them to form couches… lanterns… flowers… mason jars… and that beautiful tree in the middle… anchoring the tables and dance floor. Making it seem like country cook-out meets formal gala!
My favorite part was the speech right before mine. The speech of a family turning tragedy into triumph.
The first Brain Cancer we put on our remembrance wall was Laurie. Laurie’s family spoke that night and celebrated Laurie on her birthday! Yes, Night of Hope was on Laurie’s birthday.
